About Mandy Henson:

Mandy Henson, originally from England, developed a deep and abiding passion for art and design during her formative years. From a young age, Mandy found herself drawn to the visual arts, experimenting with different media and techniques, always seeking new ways to express her unique creative vision. Her early exposure to the rich artistic traditions of Europe played a crucial role in shaping her sensibilities, providing her with a solid foundation that would fuel her lifelong dedication to the arts.
She pursued her artistic journey at esteemed institutions, earning a BFA in Fine Arts Education from Parsons School of Design and the School of Visual Arts. Both schools provided Mandy with the opportunity to refine her technical skills while also cultivating a deeper understanding of art history, theory, and pedagogy. Her time spent at these world-renowned schools was instrumental in developing her personal artistic philosophy, blending contemporary art practices with a respect for classical techniques. Mandy’s thirst for knowledge and her unwavering commitment to mastering her craft led her to continue her education at Long Island University, where she obtained her Master of Fine Arts degree.
Mandy’s artistic perspective has been profoundly enriched by her diverse and global experiences. After being born and raised in England, Mandy embarked on a new chapter of her life, spending over a decade living in Australia. There, she found herself immersed in a vibrant and dynamic artistic community, surrounded by renowned local and international artists who had a deep impact on her creative development. The diverse landscapes, cultures, and artistic movements in Australia allowed her to broaden her horizons and refine her style, merging elements from both European and Australian art traditions.
In addition to her personal artistic pursuits, Mandy is also an experienced educator, passionate about sharing her love of art with students of all ages. She believes in the transformative power of creativity and has dedicated much of her time to teaching in both formal and informal settings, helping to inspire the next generation of artists. Her work as an educator is rooted in the belief that art should be accessible to everyone, and she continuously strives to foster an environment that encourages experimentation, innovation, and personal expression.
Mandy Henson’s work continues to evolve, reflecting her ever-growing fascination with the intersections between art, culture, and the natural world. Whether through painting, sculpture, or mixed media, she remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of her artistic practice, always seeking new ways to engage with her audience and provoke thought through her creations. She currently resides in New York City, where she maintains a busy studio practice, constantly exploring new projects and collaborations.
